Dr. Wolfhard Küppers

Wolfhard Küppers is attorney-at-law and senior partner of Notos attorneys-at-law & tax advisors.

Prior to joining WestLB's Investment Banking Department as Director, Wolfhard Küppers had gained professional experience both abroad and in Germany as corporate lawyer with Shearman & Sterling, Hengeler Mueller and Haarmann Hemmelrath where he became senior partner.

Dr. Küppers advises on corporate and banking law with a particular focus on securitizations and leasing.. Wolfhard Küppers published the first ever article covering all legal, tax and balance sheet issues of German securtizations in the law journal "Die Aktiengesellschaft". He was also invited to speak on several securitization conferences in Germany and abroad. Wolfhard Küppers is considered to be one of the pioneers of German securitizations. He was among the first German lawyers working on secutitzations long before securitzation became established in the German market. As a consequence of the global financial crisis "toxic securities" and "Bad Banks" have become another focus of Dr. Küppers.

Another focus of Dr. Küppers is to advise on German Ltds. and German partnerships. He is very experienced in legal due diligence and in structuring and implementing mergers and acquisitions. He also advises on compliance, in particular on how to implement procedures to avoid white collar crime of employees and management. Dr. Küppers is an experience litigation lawyer in the areas of banking, corporate and leasing. He has also defended corporate clients against injunctive relief procedures and obtained injunctive relief for clients.
